  3. Spike says It's exciting to see that film again. I seem to remember 35 years ago that there was more of the film at the end that is included here. Teiji Ito's music goes well with the image. I remember hearing a recording of some great bebop sax solo playing in a lower Manhattan record store in the early 80's, and learning that it was by one of the part-time employees at the store, a John Zorn. Later I saw him in the store explaining stuff about rockabilly records to a customer.

    such a beautiful film, thanks for posting it on MOG!  i love everything i've seen by Maya Deren, but most especially Divine Horsemen.  i only recently found out that Ito (who composed the music for Meshes) also edited and produced Divine Horsemen (with his current wife Cherel), 20 years after Deren's death.  very interesting...
