Gil Mantera's Party Dream is in town tonight.

I first saw these guys in 2003 opening for Peaches at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, and they blew my mind. The rainbow-sequined thongs and snowboots of Gil and Ultimate Donny really stole the show, and even seeing several Peaches fans throw dildos (I assume brought from home) at her couldn't match the ridiculousness of Party Dream.

Blats from the Pabst is a classic:

lyrical genius evidence: little synthesizer you're my best friend little synthesizer your love never ends you can make the bitches shake they titties in my face with your music and my body blow these suckas out the place

Ok, so I haven't logged in for a while, and I just noticed that MOG now sometimes posts links to YouTube videos next to songs, which is awesome. I noticed the video icon next to New Order's Age of Consent, and thought, "I didn't know this song had a video."

Well it doesn't.

Instead it's some kind of slide-show montage of Natalie Portman and the holy trinity of bands I find mediocre: the Strokes, the Killers, and the Libertines. I'm kind of offended, actually.

Can someone let me know what Miss Portman or a bunch of upper-middle-class american kids making highly derivative pop-punk and garage-revival songs have to do with early New Order? MOG, why?

I feel that the following videos are much better suited and more entertaining:

Live at the BBC, Barney wears short shorts

Fly dance moves, shirtlessness, ridiculous displays of faux-manliness!!

Also, there is another Bernard Sumner, and he looks like this:

You guys,

I love Ravi. I'm in Norway for work for a few weeks, and I've been watching a lot of the Voice (Norway's MTV) late at night. I just saw Ravi + DJ Løv's video for "E Ore", and it included the holy trinity of elements: lecherous gnomes, singing cows, and big boobs.

Ravi also believes in selling out in the name of recycling:

Here's another video, not quite as funny as the first, where Ravi dresses up like a baby and goes to church:

i'm... speechless.

so: stalking is _not_ creepy as long as you're dressed like a gnome? the running man is not only back but pervasive among cows, balding men, et alii?

i feel like i've really learned a lesson here. ravi 4-ever.

So jealous. Wish I was back in Norway. A measly 2 weeks over the course of a lifetime has not been enough. Coolgreat funny videos.

I always like watching mtv in foreign places, too.
