Gil Mantera's Party Dream is in town tonight.
I first saw these guys in 2003 opening for Peaches at the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, and they blew my mind. The rainbow-sequined thongs and snowboots of Gil and Ultimate Donny really stole the show, and even seeing several Peaches fans throw dildos (I assume brought from home) at her couldn't match the ridiculousness of Party Dream.
Blats from the Pabst is a classic:

website review of their sxsw show if you can get your hands on once triangular, do it, and burn me a copy.

Ok, so I haven't logged in for a while, and I just noticed that MOG now sometimes posts links to YouTube videos next to songs, which is awesome. I noticed the video icon next to New Order's Age of Consent, and thought, "I didn't know this song had a video."
Well it doesn't.
Instead it's some kind of slide-show montage of Natalie Portman and the holy trinity of bands I find mediocre: the Strokes, the Killers, and the Libertines. I'm kind of offended, actually.
Can someone let me know what Miss Portman or a bunch of upper-middle-class american kids making highly derivative pop-punk and garage-revival songs have to do with early New Order? MOG, why?
I feel that the following videos are much better suited and more entertaining:

Also, there is another Bernard Sumner, and he looks like this:

You guys,
I love Ravi. I'm in Norway for work for a few weeks, and I've been watching a lot of the Voice (Norway's MTV) late at night. I just saw Ravi + DJ Løv's video for "E Ore", and it included the holy trinity of elements: lecherous gnomes, singing cows, and big boobs.

ok, dh

i feel like i've really learned a lesson here. ravi 4-ever.
