Primary election day here in Penn's Woods. Go vote for the right candidate, my fellow Pennsylvanians!
"The power to dream / to rule to wrestle the world from fools it's decreed the people rule it's decreed the people rule LISTEN I believe everything we dream can come to pass through our union we can turn the world around we can turn the earth's revolution"
Can't access youtube from work to post the video, but, hey, you get the idea.

My Trusted MOGs
Did it already. The folks at the polling place said that by 9 a.m. they'd already had as many voters as they usually get in a day. No matter who takes PA, that's a good sign....

A cell phone company used this song for a campaign and they ruined it for me, they ruined it, I tell you.
But yes, people have the power. Go, Pennsylvanians!

Rock the vote Penn moggers!
I just heard that a record number of republicans switched their affiliation to democratic before the deadline...What does that mean where all y'all are from? Love to hear your opinion on what that is going to do on the primary election.
My Trusted MOGs
I bet the Republicans switched to vote for Hillary..
My Trusted MOGs
Oops,, I meant marked increase in Dems from Republican registrations....
My Trusted MOGs
yep, there has been a marked increase in Republican registrations. Some (conservative) talk show hosts apparently have urged listeners to do so to vote for Hillary since they see her as more readily defeated by McCain. However, I think it's more that people are inspired by both Clinton and Obama, and (finally) recognize that voting matters. Here in the Philly burbs the prediction is for Obama to win this region, but Hillary polls better in the more rural precincts elsewhere.
And this may be a shock, but I think I could live with any of the three candidates as President. it's too bad you can't combine McCain's realistic view of foriegn policy with Obama's inspirational skills.

Mr. McCain seems a little to jumpy to be by the button..He always seems to be gritting his teeth.

If it truly was power to the people there would be a candidate from a party not affiliated with Dem or Rep where voting for either one of these is basically staying the course. The system must be changed however, few want to induge. Thanks for trying.......

Cody, yeah, he is definitely too close to the neo-con view of foreign policy, but I think both Obama and Clinton to be perhaps a little naive or less-schooled in the realpolitik that is necessary.
Cpetersonart... not sure how you can say both for staying the course -- that was a mistaken assertion in 2000, and even more so now. Obama and Clinton have very similar policy proposals, but there are significant differences b/w the Dems and McCain on almost every issue, from tax cuts to the wealthy to health care to the environment to Iraq.

dang gummit... I really was hopeful that Obama would pull an upset in PA... dang those rural folks ;)
Ah well, there's still a race, I really hope he crosses that finish line first...
My Trusted MOGs
my point was that I am not so enthused about the current candidates selection. In fact I have been rather disappointed by the Democrats and republicans since McGovern which is the first election I voted in.I am of the mind now that we need to go beyond the two party system.I admit Obama sounds good but the mudslinging hints of other elections of the past.Just a thought...

ah, that makes more sense....additional party options could give greater voice to more diverse voices in the process, ie like in a parliamentary system. The parties absolutely rig the system to entrench their power, just look at congressional redistricting and how the vast majority of seats are safe seats.
