Dr Locrian says I was very saddened to hear the news. D & D was a huge influence in my life, not only because I'm a lifelong player of tabletop RPG's, but because when I discovered 1st edition D & D way back in the early 80's, it opened doors to subjects and activities that I'd never seriously considered before.

I am says In about a month I will be going to NYC Comic Con, no doubt his visage will be everywhere and his passing will be the talk of the Con. I will reread Monster Manual again in his honor.

I am pretty certain I still have my copies of the Monster Manual and Dungeon Masters Guide from 1981 somewhere around here. Dale says My ears are burning. Hmmm. I read this, and had to post the link on Multiply. It's a real bummer to me. From a pen & paper game I played with friends as a teemager, to hours spent playing computerized versions, none of those good times would have happened without Gygax. And I know I've mentioned it before, but Neverwinter Nights is my CRPG poison. My wife's as well (she's typing on the NWN message board right now). How's that for the geek getting the girl?
