WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Ahead of its time

Posted over 3 years ago
There was a point in time when every time I found myself in a used CD store, I would look for this CD and usually find it in the bargain bins. The tragedy is that Baby Ford's BFORD9 should have been every bit as popular as Lords of Acid's Lust or The Prodigy's Experience. Why it wasn't I don't know. This is a solid techno/trance experience, covering your nasty arpeggiated floor-burners ("Fetish"), sexy and sassy analog-drenched house ("Disconoddy"), and deep trippy digital funk ("Sashay Round The Fuzzbox"). Simply put, there's something on this album for everyone. Peter "Baby" Ford's later excursions were still worth hearing, but much more minimal.
