Oh my god watch this music video if you like any of the following:
Cowboys Lasers Kung-fu Starwars Unicorns Sex Planet of the Apes
Seriously watch it, best piece of film I've seen in a long time.

What an amazing cd, I've been listening to it non-stop for the last week. Sounds more jam-session-y with some latin ballads thrown in there. Doesnt feel like an epic story like de-loused or frances. Reminds me more or the tremulant EP and some of their un-released b-sides. I do expect the mastered retail version to sound like one large song though, the ends and starts of songs are too ubrupt which leads me to believe they havent stitched the songs together yet. I also noticed a lot more singing in this cd, less crickets.
Theres a lot of noodling, voice modulators and some pink floyd-esque stuff in there. Its a little hard to swalow at first, but so was frances. I can't wait till the masteed version comes out, this mix is seriously lacking in seperation.
5/5 :)

I love The Mars Volta, and I love The Beatles. Lets take a look at some of the similarities between the two:
First of all, both bands names' start with 'The', coincidence? I think not!
The Beatles started off as a pop boy band, The Mars Volta started off as an emo punk band (At The Drive In).
Both bands climaxed at the mainstream and brought in a huge fanbase, I'm comparing Beatlemania with At The Drive-in circa Relationship of Command
As time went on they both start experimenting more and more, creating music not as accessible as before
Political activism, Actually I'm still waiting for Zack De La Rocha to make a cameo on a volta track :)
alright so that was pretty lame... next I'll compare The Mars Volta to Led Zeppelin! :)
