Enjoyed L.E.O.? Like powerpop? Pay attention. One of my faves, Bleu, is releasing his "new" album next Tuesday - A Watched Pot. This was actually recorded years ago for Sony, who declined to release it after their first release of his was not a commercial barn-burner. Bleu bought it back from them and it is just now being released. A lot of the songs have, at one point or another, been streamable on MySpace and certain unnamed (harrumph!) Bleu fans have recorded off of the site and been playing them for years.
Happily, Bleu is coming to the Philly area at the end of this month with Jim Boggia, in a double-bill at Puck's in Doylestown, PA. I will be there, having seen both of these fabulous performers before. This is going to be some night.

Pretty darned good. Haven't enjoyed L.E.O. yet; are they better than E.L.O.?
The L.E.O. CD is a strange kind of tribute album to ELO. It features none of the songs of ELO (except for a quick cover in a "hidden" track, but instead sought to recreate some of the sound and magic of that band, using original material.
The principal members? Bleu and Andy Sturmer, lead vocalist for powerpop icons Jellyfish. L.E.O. has several songs/ posts on MOG if you put them in the search box.
L.E.O's one CD., IMHO, was brilliant. I long for them to do it again.
That should be a dang good show, Mark. I remember, I tipped you to Jim last year. I'm glad you were able to catch him live- and will again. Have a great time!!
Loved Bleu's first album, so I'll definately be on the watch for this. Thanks!
Don't forget about Mike Viola and Hanson on that great L.E.O. song "Make Me". Killer track!
Been waiting a long time for this new Bleu album. Can't wait to hear it from beginning to end.
By the way, Dermahrk, here's one of the interviews that Jim Boggia recently did on "The Time Machine":

Never heard of him, but I'm now a fan.
MusicRX: Yes, I STILL owe you one for turning me on to Jim Boggia.
Englecox: Actually, "Redhead" was just his first major label album. "Headroom" preceded that, and there was a Christmas special CD with several Bleu tracks called "A Ding Dang Holidang". Collect them all!
Time Machine: I was lucky enough to catch Mike Viola and Kelly Jones as the opening act for Fountains of Wayne about 10 days ago. They were both fabulous.
p-wagz: thrilled if I can interest one more person in this fantastic songwriter/singer.
