New (and new old live) music coming from Moby Grape
-
Artist:
In the latest issue of UK Music Mag UNCUT, bassist Bob Mosley speaks about new releases coming from Moby Grape on the Sundazed label:

Sundazed have "got the bootleg stuff, all live, and they're going through that. My publisher sent them some live material. There'll be a live CD, stuff from the Avalon, Fillmore and Winterland". I wonder if some of this will come from the Bill Graham estate tapes?
And regarding current music? "We're recording right now with Dane Clark from the John Mellencamp Band. He's got his whole band, except for Mellencamp, on it. We've got Peter Lewis, Jerry Miller, me and Skip Spence's son Omar on it. We wrote all the songs" No mention is made of why drummer Don Stevenson is not on the sessions.

If only the unreleased studio stuff were to come out. Nice to know about this though - hopefully better quality than what's kicking around the net. Thanks! I really must start reading the local music mags again. :-)
Well, a lot of the studio stuff DID come out - first as bonus tracks on the Sundazed re-releases, then packaged as a single CD called The Place And The Time, which was issued just recently, if you don't want to re-buy the old releases.
Ok. Once again I'm not paying enough attention. (Really must read those mags!) These days I'm using Spotify a lot and while they have the Legendary Grape album there's none of the Columbia or Sundazed material. A check on amazon and I'm there...thanks once more.
A really capital track. But....doesn't that applause at the end sound canned?
It does start abrupty, no? Since it came from a bootleg, I can't attest to anything. Maybe it will be on that live non-boot release.
Wow this is vintage......
