Second in a series. The second biggest hit written by Jules Shear was recorded by Cyndi Lauper on her smash debut album "She's So Unusual". "All Through The Night" also featured Jules on background vocals. The song originally appeared on Jules' first solo LP "Watch Dog", produced by Todd RundgrenAnd here Cyndi is performing the song live on Solid Gold:About this time, Jules was as close to a commercial peak as he was destined to get. Two hit songs on the charts, his second solo CD released, he became the host for the earliest programs of "MTV Unplugged", featuring acoustic performances by artists used to electric instrumentation. In the early days, artists would also jam live with Jules onstage and things could take unexpected turns. As the program grew more popular, and the artists wanted to control more and more of the content, the host was dropped, and spontaneity squelched. I hope that a few are realizing who Jules is, because it's going to get more obscure from here...

Mark, I'm aware that Jools Holland played for squeeze but I could swear that Jules Shear had something to do with them too but I can't find any info that says he did, am I making things up ?

Dachmo, you definitely HAVE confused your Jules. Shear has absolutely nothing to do with Squeeze - and I would know, having complete collections of both.
