  1. Lester Jonze says Worry? Absolutely. In the beginning it is because of talent, but as time goes on and bands get bigger sometimes they lose sight of the reason they began making music in the first place and become more concerned with making money. It's like something very personal and private to you being taken away and given to everyone, which kind of hurts. So yeas I think there is always cause for worry.

  2. Eliahoo says I would much rather turn on the TV to find a Quantic tune and an iPod ad as opposed to the Sofa King wearing a crown and shouting about low prices. Why on earth would a song that you previously considered to be from someone with talent suddenly require re-evaluation as something that is "lowest common denominator" based on its exposure? Would you re-evaluate whether your favorite meal was any good based on a sudden increase in in the number of people who were eating it? A good tune is a good tune and talent is talent. While I would like to believe the appearance of such quality music in the commercial space is a sign of good taste in the masses, it may simply be a sign that the ad producers have good taste. It's entirely possible the public hated the ad and the song. Part of being a tastemaker means knowing about stuff that the general public doesn't know about. So once an underground resource has been brought above-ground it loses much of its caché. In that respect, you have something to worry about.
