MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:
Track:

I just came to a realization that I thought I would share. I have three version of a song I don't like that much... Who does this happen, you ask? Mash-Ups. It just so happens that 50 Cent's In Da Club has mash up versions with two tracks I really like: Closer (By Nine Inch Nails) and Satisfaction (by Benny Benassi). Now it's not that I don't like the track in it's original version, it has a good beat and is a great booty shakin' tune, but I need to be in the mood for it is all. A quick search came up with another mash up that I hadn't heard yet, In Da Club with Smooth Criminal (by Michael Jackson). I wonder what it is about this song that makes it so Mash-able? I've (nervously) uploaded the mash ups to Multiply, and they can be found here: In Da Club Mas Ups

FYI Daniel, you can't direct link to individual tracks from multiply, the links don't work. You just havta post a link to the multiply page where you've posted them.

I think it's its sillyness, simplicity & "easy" beat that make it so mashable.

I kinda like the NIN version, the other two are rubbish. A great mash-up album to check out is The Avalanches - Since I Left You.

Thanks for the heads up Ty, I've updated the link to just go to the page, hopefully that works.

I agree with Anna. The beat is just right.

FYI: Danger Mouse once mashed Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner" with "In Da Club". Groove Distribution may still have a few in stock.

an old friend of mine from Baltimore/Philly did a white-guy accoustic version of "In Da Club" that was absolutely beautiful. ...and not in an ironic white-guy-accoustic-cover-of-rap way. beautiful.

this guy was a dying junky/alcoholic/self-destructo. every time was party time and it was killing him and he knew it. when the song rolled around to the bridge where 50 talks about not being able to change I winced every time. I wonder if he's still alive.
