Inspired by etcvisitor's post on "Ohio Born Bands":http://mog.com/etcvisitor/blog_post/15996 I did some research on musicians from my City (Calgary, AB, Canada). Here's a sample of our homegrown talent:"Jann Arden":http://www.jannarden.com/"Paul Brandt":http://www.paulbrandt.com/"Chixdiggit":http://www.chixdiggit.com/"Dan the One Man Band":http://www.dantheonemanband.com/ (Not me, I swear)"Oscar Lopez":http://www.oscarlopez.com/"Tegan and Sara":http://www.teganandsara.com/"The Plaid Tongued Devils":http://www.thedevils.com/If I were to expand my scope to the rest of the province (the Canadian equivalent of a 'State' for anyone wondering), here's some Artists from Alberta:"K.D. Lang":http://www.wbr.com/kdlang/"Nickelback":http://www.nickelback.com/"Terri Clark":http://terriclark.com/Sure, they're no NIN, but not too shabby non-the-less.

  2. ookpik says I love hometown heroes! I have a list of awesome Victoria bands on my MOG. I left out the occasional, more famous, older Victorians like Hot Hot Heat and, uh, No Means No. So which of those Calgarian bands do you actually like?

  4. democlez says etcvisitor - The red mile was *the place to be* a few years back, but now it's too regulated. ookpik - Jann Arden seems to be a great person in interviews, and I have a few tracks by here, I own two Nickelback albums, and I've been meaning to get into Tegan and Sara for years now.... Amy - So *that's* why you like Limp Bizkit! ;)
