WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

I need the new New Nine Inch Nails Album now!

Posted about 1 year ago
Randomly through the weirdworld blog (of all places) I found out that Nine Inch Nails has a new album! I don't know how I didn't hear of it until now. I've purchased the digital version (for $5) and I'm currently reloading my inbox every 5 seconds until the download link shows up. You have no idea how excited I am. I've been looking forward to more instrumental music from NIN since falling in love with the 'Still' album.I'll post a review once I've given it a good listen. In the mean time, you preview, purchase, and even download the first few tracks for free here:http://ghosts.nin.com/If you are going to purchase, I would recommend holding back for a few days. The server seems to be overloaded and running really slow with connection errors galore.
-=Edit=-jt says you can buy the album at http://www.ainr.com including digital downloads. For the next few days this might be the best option since nin.com has been overloaded for some time now.

  2. democlez says Talk about a kick in the pants! I received the download link an hour ago, started the download process and 49% in, something went wrong and the download stopped. Of course the link that is emailed is only good for one download so I'm left with nothing! I've emailed customer support some hopefully I'll get a chance to download it again tomorrow. Dang digity dang.

  3. hawaiianpunch says I had trouble getting on too. I think it's just been loaded down with requests. You'd think someone as tech-savvy as Reznor would have foreseen something like this. Oh well. I can wait a little longer.

  4. jt says Looks like the online store site's down too. Bummer! I was all ready to grab this, head home and indulge for a few hours with good headphones :( Good luck with customer support.

  5. democlez says Thanks jt! I already put down the $5 at nin.com so I'm going to keep trying there before buying it again at another site. I sent an email to costumer support and got a response a few hours later that all the download links were re-set. I'm glad he's had such a great response, but it's pretty frustrating that it won't download all the way. I tried 3 times this morning but it's slow and stops before the entire file is completed. I'm going to try a few more times when I get home, but if it locks me out again I may use ainr.com or purchase the physical CD.

  6. mktackabery says Thanks for the heads up! I managed to just get in on the NIN site and get my download link, but it took a few tries to get pages to load, and now I am trying to get my download. If I do manage to get it, I'll let you know d.

  7. mktackabery says Had the same issue with my download - only got about 80 mb of the file. Sent a message to support and will wait. I'm sure it's a server issue. It's hard to be prepared for volume no matter what you do, so I'll be patient. It's pretty nice to be offered 36 songs for $5, so I'll just hang on and wait for them to respond. I'm sure they will work it out. I would like to get the deluxe package, but it's a lot of green right now.

  8. democlez says I'm in the same boat Michelle. I'll try again when I get home but if it's still problematic I'll wait a few days before giving it another go.

  10. Lester Jonze says I'm having the same problems, too. I start the download and then pffftt! Hmm, guess I'll try later.

  11. jt says Given the particuar license under which the album has been released, I suppose it's fair to say that you can legally download it from other sources now. "The Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license":http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/us/ allows you to "copy, distribute, display and perform the work" provided (amongst other things) that it's done so in a noncommercial way. If you're really desperate for your fix, perhaps finding a torrent is the way to go until the NIN servers are healthy enough for you to grab the download in your preferred format.

  12. laura27 says I managed to get it through a torrent, took all day to download for some reason but finally have it, complete with the pdf artwork, which is fantastic. Now I'm going to bed to listen :D can't wait to buy the vinyl.

  13. democlez says I shamefully admit that I couldn't wait and ended up grabbing the torrent. NIN.com indicates it has the server problem fixed, so I'll have to give it another try tonight.

  14. democlez says Last night I was able to download the entire album from NIN.com finally. The speed was impressive too. Something like 10 minutes for the entire 600+MB zip file.
