Often covers work as a way to reminisce about songs you already like. They are the songs you love but tweaked or reworked into something new but still familiar. There are also covers that sound identical to the original except with a different lead singer and don't get me started on those, that has to be my biggest musical pet peeve.

This cover however is like coming across someone you haven't seen for 10 years: if you stare at them long enough you can place them, but if you're not paying attention you could walk right by that person without recognizing them.

Download this and MANY other track on their website.

I usually don't look at band's websites unless I'm doing one of my Download of the Week searches so it was kinda by accident that I happened on their mother-load of tracks. 52 free tracks hosted on their site; not bad at all.

Ah yes. Or as my coworker so eloquently put it: "I don't know how all this music just fell into my computer."

AWESOME. i totally agree. the more a cover differentiates itself from the original the more i like it.

Ahhhh man. When I hear covers that are almost identical to the original it really gets my blood boiling. If I wanted to hear karaoke, I know the pubs I can go to, thanks. If you're going to add your voice to a song, the least you can do is add a little of your flavor to your musical accompaniment.
