I went CD shopping this weekend. I picked up some things for my collection which I've wanted. I bought all the albums I taged up above. I must say, I've been fairly impressed with Sondre Lerche since I put Faces Down on my iBook a few years ago in the parking lot of my favorite coffee shop (no worries: I've since bought the album to have a real copy). This new album itself isn't amazing, but it adds nicely to my unique jazz collection and I haven't yet listened to the cd on a Friday night with wine. So we'll see how I feel.
I also picked up Jamie Cullum's 'Catching Tales'. I've wanted it since it came out when I was living in Holland. I had totally forgotten about it until last week at work his cover of The Doves' 'Catch the Sun'. I enjoyed the song when I had it on a compilation CD by American Eagle, I think. I can't find the case to be sure. I just googled, and no, It wasn't on the AE Listen CD. Oh well. I like the song.
The feist remixes and collabs is for my secret pleasure, as well as The Virgin Suicides, music from the motion picture. I think it's a great collection. http://mog.com/compose#
