Oh dear, I've been a little busy with life and stuff - haven't been around lately. It's not likely to get any better real soon, I'm afraid (or much to your relief, depending on how you feel). So, in the past few months, I've become a pretty rabid Blue Jays fan. I'm as surprised as anyone, seeing as it's pretty much common knowledge that I'm not much for professional sports, generally speaking. I'm especially vocal about my extreme distaste for pro hockey. One of my best pals is a huge baseball fan and goes to games all the time - they're cheap, close and a pretty fun way to spend a summer evening. I'd been once or twice before and had a great time, so I started going with him more often, to the point where I actually found myself wishing I had a season pass. I attribute

  1. Marigold says I would pick "Loser" by Beck just for the irony of it. My baseball fan co-worker said he would pick "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash. (Twins fan) Fun post.

  2. Lady Miss Ian says I don't know how much it actually says about me, but I think Missy Elliot's "Work It" would be a great song to take the field with. Either that or Queen's "Killer Queen" - that's more me, but it's not such a stadium anthem.

  4. Girlcrawl says Great track; nice seat for your intended viewing purpose :-) No idea what my walk-on song would be; probably something menacingly catchy!

  6. SamTheButcher says I would probably pick something by AC/DC if the idea is to get pumped when you walk on. Like the beginning of "Shoot To Thrill" or when "Shake A Leg" kicks in. Or maybe "Secrets" by Bloc Party. Sorry my boy Vlad whupped up on Rios in the Home Run Derby. Ok, I'm not sorry. ;)

  7. debzeppelin says Marigold - that would be hilarious ... I would put you on my MVP list if that was your walk-on song! LMI - I love that video so hard! And it would make for awesome walk-on music for sure - plenty of attitude . Sam - Good picks. I was devastated by the Home Run Derby! So close for my boy's first time in the competion! Next year, man ... next year.

  8. nordico says I LOVED your baseball/music post! I was up in Toronto for the Roger Waters concert, so my walk-on song would be that bit right before "Comfortably Numb" where there's a brief crescendo and the spoken words, "Is there anybody out there?" "Out there," of course meaning left field because I am and will always be a first-ball fastball hitter! Thanks again for this clever post.

  9. Cody B says I would go with One Nation Under A Groove-Funkadelic. Or maybe, Nappy Dugout
