If you've found yourself here after taking Rawkiddo's advice, then welcome to you! And thanks so much for the warm reception so far - you guys are so sweet (is that normal around here?). I'm still learning the ropes, finding my voice, etc. but it's been fun so I guess I'll keep at it - see what happens.Despite my apparent classic rock leanings, I like a little bit of most things - but I do have a soft spot for Toronto indie rock. And I'm ashamed that I don't go to more shows, seeing as I live within a 10-minute bike ride of most venues in the city. Mid-year resolution, perhaps? There's so much amazing music in this city, I could listen to nothing but Toronto bands and be pretty much satisfied. Stay tuned, 'cause I'm sure I'll talk about some of 'em sooner or later (in fact, I already did, sorta - see The Bicycles post a few days back).As far as non-Toronto stuff goes, I'm anxiously awaiting Rilo Kiley's new album next month. God, I love that band. "Does He Love You?" off More Adventurous is one of those songs that can seriously brings me to tears. It's so ... tragic? Is that the right word? Whatever it is, it's so heart-wrenching, I love it. And I'm a sucker for strings.I'm hoping that I can expand my repertoire based on what I read/hear here. I've been feeling a little stagnant lately, so I can use a little inspiration. Looks like I came to the right place. Awesome.And here's a little sumpin' I find absolutely hilarious. Maybe you've seen it before (or some variation of it) but you can stand to see it again, I assure you:
