My Political Rant - $100 billion more???

Posted over 2 years ago
"With the Memorial Day recess looming, Congress passed the Iraq funding bill by a margin of 80-14 in the Senate and 280-142 in the House. While the measure which did not include timelines for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq was a tactical defeat for Democrats, media reports noted President Bush and the Republicans did not revel in the win." $100 BILLION to fund war through September but only $20 billion for hurricane relief, and other domestic needs. Does anyone besides me find this more than a bit absurd? And since this is Mog - I am including music videos by Steve Earle, Neil Young and Jackson BrowneJackson Browne - Lives in the BalanceNeil Young - Let's Impeach the President Steve Earle - Rich Man's War

  1. dredmunkey says this is ridiculous on so many levels. the thing that gets me is that this $$$ isn't actually going to the "troops" to the all the people that make it possible for them to be there and you are correct, why not pump that $$$ into re-building NOLA. we never seem to run out of $$$ when we want someone dead.

  2. summer eyes says this is ridiculous- i must say, i will be using my vote in '08 (first time! whoo!) to hopefully elect people with brains that function. new orleans is a beautiful city, but there are many other places along the gulf that still need help, and when i think what we could do here with some of those billions of dollars, it just makes me sick. where are our priorities america?
