WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

"You can’t roll a joint on an iPod."

Posted about 1 year ago
Gotta love a female singer who is quoted in today's paper saying “I don’t have an iPod,” she said. “I have a computer that I turn on occasionally. I still have all my vinyl. Sissy” — her nickname for Moorer, who lives in New York with her husband, the alt-country singer Steve Earle — “says she has no room in her apartment for records, but I’d keep mine even if I had to sleep on them. You can’t roll a joint on an iPod.” "NY Times magazine article Shelby Lynne's Dusty Trail":http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/13/magazine/13Lynne-t.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1

  3. Bartleby says On the old 1st generation iPod, my friends and I managed to gingerly roll some joints. But that was ages ago. Seriously, all my respect for a lady with such a practical sense.

  4. Mike the Knife says If all of the so-called "new country" was that good, I wouldn't sneer at it on a regular basis. I've never had a problem with Shelby, and I now like her even more. ;-)

  5. Jonh Ingham says That's the best comment I've heard in ages come from the mouth of a musician. Honest and obvious.

  6. Sturgell says "You can’t roll a joint on an iPod." where there's a will, there's a way.

  7. debi says My experience is that the ONLY way to roll a good joint is to use a Grateful Dead album cover. I'm with Jonh in thinking its obvious you can't use an iPod - but seems that Sturgell and Bartleby have experience to prove me (and Shelby) wrong. Leave it to Moggers........:)

  8. Jonh Ingham says You might be able to do it on an iPod, but it can't match a double album centrefold for channeling away the seeds.
