MOG MOG

MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Album: Rastaman Vibration
Track:
(9)

Rastaman Vibration is a stunning cd of incredible music. Seen by some as an attempt at POP music, hailed by others as a masterpiece, It spun off no hit single but almost every track has become a staple of reggae/soul radio (at least in these parts). Johnny Was, written by Rita Marley, exhibits a side of the Wailers not well enough appreciated.

That's strange I was just wishing mktackaberry a get well because when I accessed your post comments , hers was right after my first comment...so just flip 'em, but that sho' is strange!

I especially like the clear bass sound and balance of the instruments.

I also find interesting how Madeline's earlier comment answers mktackabery's later comment. Let's hear it for Mog surrealism. Yesterday one of my comments migrated away from a trusted's post to a later post of a Mogger I'd never heard of. My comment's content fit right in with the new post. When I went back to the other post to reattach my comment to it, the post was visible but inoperable. Like Katrina, the Mog meltdown has left some rubble. I report everything amiss to Forums>bugs.

When it comes to MOG, nothing is strange I was just on someone else's MOG blog and found a comment I had made somewhere else that had nothing to do with the post on this blog... As for my MOG blog, between disappearing posts and unplayable songs and then reappearing posts with again unplayable songs I'm not sure what to think

You know..there isn't too much fault to be found in the Wailers..What a collection of talent..the right folks,in the right place, at the right time. Could you pass the offerings?

Nice tune DMDM, like the mood. One of my fave CDs is an early Marley and the Wailers comps, and this is like a spruced up version. Thanks!

Baudolino says:

Interestingly, the lines "Can a woman's tender care cease towards the child she bear?" were also used on their 1965 ska scorcher "Hooligan", which was also a warning to the youth about the dangers of violence.

This song is widely believed to be about Delroy Wilson's brother Carlton "Batman" Wilson, who was shot in a gangland feud in Kingston around that time

I'm a sucker for the Wailers especially with Mr Baudolino's liner notes. Brilliant.
