...Vencent Ford wrote one of the Greates Songs Ever Written. I haven't checked but I'm sure this song has been posted more than once here on the MOG, I don't care. Mr Ford passed away Sunday & he deserves a little recognition.

Indeed this is a fabulous song. Thanks for posting. RIP Vencent Ford.
Thanks for acknowledging him! I love that song and had no idea he wrote it.
No way, what a loss! He deserves alot of recognition. God speed to him. May he rest in peace.
What can you say about Vincent Ford, from his history with The Wailers to his present day work with the poor. He took his music to heart.
"This album jacket is great for cleaning herb."
Just recently listened to that and enjoyed. Mine is not the live one, so this was good to hear. First time I heard this song was Joan Baez. It's all good.
As far as I know, Vincent Ford was someone who hung with the wailers from the early days when Bob's mother Cedella Booker lived with Bunny's dad Thaddeus "Toddy" Livingston.
Whether he actually wrote the songs credited to him is debatable; what I suspect is that he may have provided the reminiscences on which "No Woman No Cry" was based - Georgie lighting the fire on which the cornmeal porridge was cooked and so on, and was given a credit more for his inspiration than his genuine melodic inventiveness.
If anyone has a better theory as to how he only apparently wrote two songs, one of which is a worldwide standard, then I'd love to hear it.
Lucky?
