SHUFFLE MODE ROCKS! ALTON ELLIS...A GREAT VOICE, SILENCED.

Artist:
I will defer to Baudolino here. He is the reason I took note of Alton Ellis. Although I own none of his cds, he does pop up on myriad compilations in my collection & since reading Baudolino's posts I've been seeking them out & diggin' them immensely. Hope You Like It too.

That's a lovely cut - the triple length 12" mix, with dubs mixed by Sylvan Morris. I think the great rhythm guitar that drives the tune is by Eric "Ricco Bacca" Frater, and it's probably Robbie Lyn on the organ stool. Hadn't heard this cut before, as I only have the 7" 45 here. Gregory Isaacs cut a nice cover of "Tumbling Tears" on a 12" with U-Brown for Alvin Ranglin's GG's label round about 1977-78.
Coxsone didn't ever reuse the riddim himself, but he did pass it over to Junior Lincoln, who was at the controls when Owen Grey cut this rather forgotten cut - "Each Day I Love You More", released on a mono only Uk compilation LP round about 1970
Thanks my friend, And Merry Christmas.
Now that I've got two of my fave Moggers in one spot...Best wishes to both of you for the Holidays and all year round...No shuffle for me today..I'm going for 24 hours of James Brown..Peace and Love my friends.
