MAYBE YOU DON'T KNOW BO

Track:I Don't Like You
An honored member of the Rock n Roll hall of Fame & recipient of the Rhythm & Blues Foundation Pioneer Lifetime Achievement Award, Ellas Otha Bates, aka Bo Diddley was truely an originator. Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis & Bo, the original punk rockers, kicked open the doors of middle class America to the sound of rocknroll. Bo Diddley's sound was all about rhythm. His "shave & a haircut" riff has been oft imitated, but no one could "riff" off that riff like Bo. His live shows were exercises in voodoo rocknroll, Mother Africa was very much present in the wild yet precise rhythmns conjured up by this magic man, this shaman stalking the stage.
Bo Diddley has an amazing body of work for enthusiasts to discover. Some of his "deep tracks" will truely stun the listener. His catalog ranges from the sensational to the absurd (like most of the original generation of rockers, Bo fell on hard times during the "Beatle Years" & found himself recording some seriously questionable selections), but throughout his caree rhe tossed off gems, even if they were buried on god-awful albums.
But from 1955 to about '62 or so Bo Diddley's output was consistantly strong. Innovative, imaginative & sometimes just plain goofy, The man's influence on the birth of rocknroll cannot be denied.
