Live music is better.....bumper stickers should be issued.
Bright Eyes seems to be as polarizing as a presidential election. His fans are devoted, his detracters are scornful. I am a fan in that anyone who can come up with "I'm Wide Awake Its Morning" is an artist to watch. Granted "Morning" is an artistic trap....there's no where to go from there...as an artist one backs away slowly & cautiously from such a ledge. But its an awesome insight, a perfect capturing of a certain state of disolute fear/anger/uncertainty endemic to twenty-somethings in early 21st Century America.
This track, "Lua" is taken from a live performance, (an audience recording) and although the audio could be better it ain't too bad. Somehow the sound of his devotees' hushed sing along adds to the charm. But for me the trumpet is worth the price of admission.

I assume you must have a studio recording of this as well, so you can tell what's going on musically. The song may be a good one, I can't really tell. Plus we listen to 1:15 of incoherent introduction/audience noise before it starts, and another 1:10 of the same after it's over.
Interesting, but it belies your "Live Music Is Better" intro.

The song's lyrics are engaging and well-written, and its melody reminds me a little of the Replacements' song "Androgenous."
I say a good song and good album I say the live extras do kick ass
