Never heard "House" done this way before.
Interesting stuff, deadsy.
It's like - faster - jacked up a bit - yet she really seems to be singing - sorta off the beat - with the band.
Sophisticated stuff.
She noticed earlier than most jazz singers her age that songs outside jazz and traditional pop were ripe for the picking, putting her into the envied "hard to categorize" category. Good choices, DM!
Ms Simone was a true pioneer in so many respects. To my mind she's one of the very best FOLK singers ever. With the voice of an avenging angel & the heart of a true warrior, she wrestled the world of music to it's knees....and she did it her way.
