**Deerhoof** is definitely an acquired taste. Their icy crystal fragility is spiked with sharp edges and hidden hooks. This track from their 2005 release, **The Runners Four** is typical only in that its atypical. You cannot approach this band with your expectations.

I think the spammer is pretty lit. And yes, Deerhoof does hide the hooks but they are there and they kick ass.

I don't think that's English she's singing. Is it Japanese? Surprisingly, I am enjoying this. I think it's because of her voice, which provides a tonic against the occasional thrashing.

As I listen, I envision Yoko fronting Led Zep- only their singer is tolerable.
