**??THEY REPROCESSED THEIR BRAINS??**
Yesterday, All across America we celebrated our independence. We paraded and BBQ'd and partied and played and from what I understand there may have been some drinking involved in certain quarters.
I gotta tell you foks, I'm a sucker for fireworks. I love 'em. And living in the crowded northeast corridor there are fireworks close by every night since Monday last.
**Bob Dylan** distilled a generation of thoughts and wrote..**"They say that Patriotism is the last refuge to which a scoundrel clings, Steal a little and they'll throw you in jail, steal a lot and they'll make you a king"**....and I think we all see the truths therein. But too many people take from that an indictment of Patriotism, which I think is dead wrong. National Pride is, generally speaking, a good thing. We all look to our cultures and countries and we see good & bad aspects of them.
There are some however who view patriotism with suspician, even hostility. Some look down on Patriotism as the refuge of the ignorant. (Did anyone read the **NY TIMES** yesterday?). Still others' patriotism rides on waves of party affiliation.

But even the casual student of history soon learns that Patriotism/Nationalism has instigated many wars. Battles over territories and resources dot the history of the world like pepperoni on a pizza.
Its a different world now though, a more dangersome world. A clash of ideologies, fundamental religious beliefs, knows no borders, recognizes no sovereignty......."**There'll be no shelter here, the front line is everywhere**"

>>>And what does this all mean? Nothing really, just the half-hungover ramblings of a clown crying in the alley.

Well, either cough down a few gallons of coffee or open another bottle of Jack and get on with the show. The opening act was most entertaining. Rambling off-site myself, getting ready to head out for a day on the lake with my daughter's family. There won't be any conversation this scintillating, but I'll have my feet in the water. and try, once again, to capture a companion for my turtle. Later Ringmaster!
Ramble on Sir Clown... perfect music to accompany this post too.
A sterrr-RANGE track. but appropriate for the 4th.
Damn, I knew I should have gone into art...
Well, I browsed The NYT yesterday, and I'm not sure what you are referring to. If you care to specify what you found objectionable, I'll be glad to read it.
Or do you just object to the existence of the NYT?
down with the NYT! those purveyors of... well... they know
Yes! One of my favorite tracks off of "Hope" - an album full of strong songs.
