Christmas Morning

Posted over 2 years ago

....and so it was on that cold night in that manger. Mary & Joseph, in the simple company of a few farm animals, a kid in the corner drumming, and a band of angels milling about, were caring for little baby santa clause. Wrapped in bright red swaddling trimmed in white faux fur, the baby santa was truly a miracle, bearing gifts for the world in the tiny little sack he carried over his little shoulder. Giant rings and leather wings & harley-davidsons too. And so it was that three wise guys were visited by angel who appeared on a flaming pie and said onto them..."You are beatles, with an "A". And Lo they were very frightened and said..."there ain't enough of us". And the angel said..."Pull him from the hurricanes who's eyes are sad & drumming adequate." And so they began their journey to search for this baby. They followed a star & lo the star was called Madonna, and she was looking to get another baby too. So they decided to share a couple of dromedaries to cut costs & went off in search of the baby santa, only to part company after seeing photos of Madonna & one of the camels............and so the three wise guys, Frankenstein, Grumpy, Sleazey, Doc, horny, daryll & daryll came to that place where Mary & joseph were washing baby santa's tiny little beard & they said onto Joseph..."Hey! Who's the kid? Youse guys think he might like some myrrh?" Just then, Madonna finally arrived, breathless & said onto Mary...."whatever they offered....I'll double it!!". & Mary said onto the star..."twinkle twinkle little....can someone make that kid stop drumming for christ sake?" & he with the sad eyes noted that the kid couldn't even do a proper paradiddle...."Yeah, like YOU would know"...the others chimed in in unison. "There should be a celebration" said the angel we have heard on various highs...Let all the world in on the fun!!!!" "But how could such a thing be done?", asked a shepard who was wandering by. And Lo the angels did sing////"We'll just put some bleachers out in the sun and have it out on highway sixty-one".

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

This is not really a Christmas song, but as others have noted the actual date has certainly been adjusted to coincide with various Solstice & life affirming celebrations of the northern, cold weather tribes.

.......And strictly speaking its not that much of a song.  A delightful children's song, but most of the time its done in such a way that only children would appreciate it.  Or adults singing it with children, but you know what I mean.  It is not a song that would turn up randomly on a good mix, IMHO.    UNLESS its this version.  Fats Domino does this song & not only makes it tolerable...he makes it fun.

    Thumpity Thump indeed

Upon reflection its dificult to believe that Sinatra or his estate would ever have allowed this.  I mean,  this is Toxic Tuesday material. Did ANYONE listen to this before it was okay'd for release?  Were they fricken deaf???

As far as music, I only asked for the new Macca CD/DVD, and I got it! Got me some concert watching to do!
