....Yo La Tengo is one of our great "under most peoples' radar screen" bands, and its a shame. They're an adventerous & blasphemous band deeply immersed in the musical culture they idolize and cauterize. Capable of Sonic Youth style mystic shronk & Keren Ann delicacy...often in the same track, YLT boldly explore, with humor & commitment, every nook & cranny that strikes their fancy.

Agreed. Got to see one of their infamous Hannakah shows at Maxwell's a couple years ago. They surround themselves w/ great bands and people - Red Kross and the DB's got back together to open up. They were great, playing well over 2 hours. Very underappreciated. Always
It was nice to see them get some exposure backing She & Him on Conan a year or so ago.

Could only get through about half of the medley. Sea Cruise was similar. Intentionally bad - or just bad? Not sure I care. I think you've tried to interest me in YLT before but they sound like a crappy garage band.
Enjoyed the video - particularly throwing things at a picture of Lou Reed. The music behind the vid was ok as well - as opposed to their covers.

mmmm. it's so awesome how they can "rock & roll", all things considered. i don't have internet time to listen to everything but i'll be back for the rest. i think i have a Ramones cover of theirs somewhere.
