SUNDAY UNDER COVERS WITH KEB MO

I feel such ambivalence towards this track.Sometimes it sounds so ??right?? and sometimes its like....WTF?Any opinions?

  1. Cody B says The original was such a fave of mine as a kid, I find it difficult to like the cover. I have no probs with Mr. Mo either, but it is hard not to ask why? The sentiment is powerful though, and the voices are wonderful, so it can pleasing to the ear. I guess Keb's is like the Local, while The O'Jays version is like the Express.

  7. ivylander says A nice idea, actually. Would've worked better with two or three fewer elements. Sounds like they didn't really trust that the song would work in a setting this different, so they threw in the kichen sink to cover themselves. Also, sounds very session-musiciany....

  16. poebegone says unfortunately i went from Annie's hearing test post to this one, so feeling a little deaf at the mo'. you know that fine line between feelin' it and forcing it? methinks Keb's train keeps crossing.
