......Sometimes its gotta be live. Sometimes a song conceived in the studio is reborn on stage. Sometimes a good song becomes a great song as the artists find new ambient pathways within melody, rhythm, & lyrical interpretation. Not so much a reimagining as a reexamination, a revisiting. A celebration of intent over imitation.
...At Least Thats What You Said is a good case in point. The song opens in such an elegantly wasted air, fueled by the limp wavering will of a junkie's smoldering anger, and then explodes into violent spikey guitar shronk & roll that mirrors but mocks the mannered stylings of the studio effort. Its the ecstatic sweat-soaked performance of the twenty first shaman conjuring thunder & lightning as shield and sword. My kinda rocknroll.

SCORE!
diem, I like this spikey guitar, especially its violently descending notes starting at around the 2:19 mark, abandoning limp wavering will and conjuring thunder and lightning as sword and shield. My kinda prose. I'm mogging it up!
I'll take Wilco just about anytime.
