I'm not sure how many years this race has been happening, I haven't entered in a decade. Although I grew up on the river and I know it like a foot knows it's stocking I've never won, or even came in in the top five. But its a lot of fun, for participants and spectators alike.The start point is just below the waterfall.
And the first obstacle is the bridge about fifty yards downstream.
The river is fast and furious at this time of year, no place for amateurs, so of course there are many. Although the race is well monitored there is a certain amount of risk to racers and their canoes. 
SO now I'm going to watch for a while, maybe snap some photos to post.But before I do, one last photo.I had to take this picture, there's someone here who'll love it if he sees it.
