Well now....

...I have an old album with a clear white label with pen written titles. This one is called..."vs Lee Scratch Perry Dreamland (with B. W.)" I'm guessing the B. W. is Bunny Wailer.

Well, the song here began life as a B-side on a 1963 single on Vee-Jay Records - "My Dream Island" by the El-Tempos.

The Wailers first cut it, with a vocal line-up of Bunny Livingston, Peter Tosh and Constantine "Dream" Walker at Studio One in 1966. It was later released in dubwise form in the mid-seventies as "Love Land".

This particular track dates from 1971-ish, with the Hippy Boys (Aston and Carlton Barrett) on rhythm duties, Bunny Wailer singing lead. It was cut at Randys and produced by Lee Perry, who also released an instrumental cut by the Upsetters on "Africa's Blood". Bunny cut his own solo version on "Blacheart Man" in 1976, and Third World recorded a lovely cover of it on "96 Degrees In the Shade". If memory serves, Bunny recorded a new vocal over the original Upsetter rhythm on his "Sings the Wailers" album in 1981-82 or so.
