  4. GrittyMcScruff says Nice! Can never go wrong with Chuck, especially Chuck blues! "This rap thing is high now, but it is going to die out. I give it a year at the most. I saw this M.C. Hammer guy on TV the other night, for the first time, and I rolled on the floor. Them big-leg britches and that stuff he was doing, that nutted me up! " -Johnnie Johnson Random quote, but I thought it was pretty funny.

  5. dermahrk says Interesting indeed. The only version I've heard previously is on one of the early Rolling Stones LPs. This is peppier, and pretty much puts the Stones to shame. Good luck wit dem blues, bud.

  6. Spike says One of the things about Chuck Berry is how his cover versions were often way better than the originals, and it's true about this song. Contrast his version with the 1941 original hit version, written and sung by Walter Brown with piano by bandleader Jay McShann. McShann's other earliest recordings of 1941-42 feature the rest of his band, which included Charlie Parker as well.
