Really!! How does Ringo get away with these things? If any other person brought these tapes to their record company.......
....and its not like its an isolated incident...who recalls Sentimental Journey? It seems that when they other three thought they could make it without Ringo's guiding genius....his talents began to diminish. Go Figure. Oh, don't get me wrong.....RINGO was a fine album..put together by Richard Perry, producer extraordinaire, who put exes on the floor and provided decent vocals for Ringo to sing over...it was nice, & still holds up well if you're into featherweight pop.
Stop & Smell The Roses, on the other hand was the inglorious result of one too many trips to the formulaic well. Topped off by an absolutely wretched remake of Back Off Boogaloo, which is wretched to begin with. The only redeeming factor in the original was George Harrison's laser-light slippery slide. This song i post here this evening....You Belong To Me is one of my favorite songs from the earlier days of R&R....it doesn't deserve this

Part of the planet's vanishing resources went into creating this. Part of our mortal time and effort go into processing this post. Your prose made it worthwhile.
Spike, you are too kind.
Quite apart from the awfulness of the idea, this song sounds as if the record is warped and being played underwater. Is this a deliberate strategy to improve our impression of it?
Exactly
Great Scott! It's a shame that so many people who can really sing can't even think about makingh it if they wanted to. And then there's stuff like this.
The great machine churns forward.
No, that's not Scott, that's Ringo. And I don't see any greatness goin on here :-)
geez, this always happens...a little clarification...
AAArgh that is a shocker and Cap you are have given up all rights to say a word
Ah, you're pretty great Scott.
Voe-de-oh-doe. Is it Tuesday already?
The CD re-release includes some semi-decent Stephen Stills-Ringo collaborations.
This one came up on the iPod just this past week. I survived it without scars.
Mark....not all scars are visible
I only have vague, if any, memories of the original, so it's hard to be offended (post it if you have it?). Plus, I tend to give Ringo a LOT of rope.
Wotinhell is this? Sounds like a modern version of Tiny Tim on...MJ. Oh well, another tax write off for TAFKAR.
