....Though out history, Or at least the history of free market democracies, no government has ever sucessfully spent it's way out of economic turmoil. G.W. Bush was severely excoriated for running up a huge deficit. During the last predential campaign it seemed as if the Republic would crumble due to the massive debt our government was incuring.
...And so one candidate....our current President...Promised that his administration would operate under the pay as you go rule....that is....any tax cuts would be offset by spending cuts

.....So now our current President is running up a deficit thats larger than all previous national debt combined.....as unemployment soars. The more of our economy that the government confiscates....the less there is in the private sector...where jobs & wealth are created. The democrats may finally realize their dream.....the dependant class will soon be the largest voting bloc.....constantly voting to raid the larder of the (fewer & fewer) productive sectors of the citizenry

oddly enough...it doesn't make me feel any better.
Out here California is shutting down and handing out IOUs. We can no longer afford to keep state run gov. offices open 5 days a week, It's really looking bleak out here.

So are you shocked and surprised that a polotician lied to you? Cmon man! during an election you can be resonably sure that about 98% of what is said is bull shit! At least thats the case with our current government.
It does not surprise me that you are not happier after complaining about broken campaign promises.....This must mean you have been an unhappy person for quite some time....Would you be happier if he kept his campaign promises? Doubtful....At least he has yet to completely ignore the rules of his position by starting an unjustifiable war or something.....
The theory those liberal elitists in D.C. follow is that during good times we should reduce the national debt, and during bad times we should increase it by spending only on programs that will not hurt the economy. I enjoy cynicism as a refuge.
gotta save the unjustifiable war for the second term man any good polotician knows that!
