..........I have said it here before & I'm sure I'll say it again....Chuck Berry is the King Of Rock & Roll. There really aren't any close contenders. Elvis? Please! Get away from me with that. Chuck Berry just wipes up the floor with the guy. For cryin out loud, make a list of bands that hasn't recorded a Chuck Berry song. The man was the first self-contained, guitar god singer songwriter rock punk showman..... Yes, Chuck Berry takes a back seat to no one in the sacred pantheon of rock gods. He's the king.
.......And when the king is happy.......its a wild fun ride. As much as any performer, Chuck thrives on the positive vibe of a recptive audience. And when he's Reelin & Rockin....watch out

Is someone arguing otherwise..where dey at?
Hey, I'm still waitin' for the Tee shirt.
Nice pic with the fam Jeff.
preachin to the choir here, my friend
that's a great picture :)
Sounds like he loved playing each song differently each time. Cool brood portrait.
Got to be one of the most covered artists ever. That says a lot. And his riffs? I would venture a guess that they are the most widely used rock riffs ever.
Nice to see the family! Hope you are having a great time!
I second that emotion.
What, even better than the self-appointed "king of pop"?
Jeff's shirt should read KING OF MOG..
Thanks for sayin so Cody, but others are more deserving, i'm sure.
In my book, you and Chuck are in the first chapter..
Errrr.....there are those who might suggest Little Richard is as deserving of the title as Mr Berry. Granted, Chuck was a better songwriter, but as a performer I'd tend to go for Mr Penniman more often than not.
I like the changes in this live version.
Got to see Berry live on 12/30/07 in NYC from the front row. That was a great night. He messed up the opening to one song, stopped and said, "And now let's see if I can play it in the right key."
And then he did.
And he reeled and rocked and rolled the whole set- even at 80. Yes, it was a great night.
