WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

This One's For FEDGE

Posted about 1 year ago
I'm sure most of you never 'knew' FEDGE.I know I didn't. He was the only member of our community to be forced out, to my knowledge. He was abrasive, abusing, insulting and crude. But he was also incredibly insightful, and if his wit was caustic to the extreme sometime, at other times he could be awefully sensitive to perceived slights. But shortly after he left the Mogos i got one last email in which he asked me to remind the community from time to time about a fellow Mogger's "Special Mission":http://mog.com/Sparkylulu/blog_post/34441#write-commentFEDGE felt it important that we remember from time to time that there **Are** things in this world more important than "Brittney's shaved hooha"or Paris Hilton's latest....whatever.This world can be a cold and indifferent place. But everyone deserves a fighting chance. So FEDGE, this one's for you.And Sparkylulu, I still stand in awe of your courage, and I congratulate you and your wife (somwhat belatedly) on the birth of Zoe, your lovely new daughter. And folks on the Mogos, be your warm loving selves."Click this":http://www.lizzielulu.com/

  3. dermahrk says In the old days, a post about Fedge would've generated much more than two comments. How soon we forget. I think he also ragged on her for crying about her dead gramma. Some things are better forgotten.

  4. Bartleby says I haven't met Fedge...but if he's anything like the people whom I've met here in MOG, then I have missed a true free spirit. Peace to you all, my good friends.

  5. deadmandeadman says Bartleby, you missed an incredibly funny guy with a mean streak as wide as Rosie O'Donnell. He could be vicious, brutal, crude, and very insulting. He took perceived slights to heart and lashed out ruthlessly at any and all who crossed his path. He'd befriend you and then turn on you, exposing confidences and mocking foibles. Having said all that, I liked the guy, to a degree. He could be piss-your-pants funny sometimes, I swear. One thing is certain, he kept this place from becoming Mr Roger's Neighborhood.

  6. goodmusiconly says Interesting you should post about this, as both Fedge (John) and Sparkylulu were on my mind recently. Fedge could be all the things you say, and despite the lashing out we were all witness to, he could also be the sweetest guy you've ever talked to. Unfortunately not everyone got to see that side of him. I send my congrats out to Sparky and family, that's great news. Thanks for the reminder, Deadman. Peace!

  9. TylerDurden says CF...a post-worthy topic that puts meaning back into news...this is the kind of stuff that needs to be reported on...not the Blond bimbos of Hellywood...thanks DMDM

  10. Sturgell says Not to poke fun at a serious issue, but in the back of my head is this kid I knew in high school who would almost surely say in this situation "Shit just got hella real up in here."

  11. deadmandeadman says For real Sturgell, my man. There are things we all need to be reminded of from time to time. Some folks' reality can make our own seem blessedly serene. I do not endorse _anything_ lightly. But sparkeylulu has gone out of his way to account for every penny raised, the transparency is breath-taking in this day and age. They have awarded scholarships already. I know that C. F. is a particularly brutal affliction, battering the bodies and souls of victims & their families. I know that young ones deserve a chance to become old ones. If I forget, one of you can feel free to post about this at any time.

  12. TylerDurden says DMDM, thanks for this post, it is great to see the good that comes from bad...and to put our mind set back in place, never take for granted how lucky we are... those with CF and their families have such an uphill battle, start feeling down and out, and this gives them hope...
