.....I have long held that its somewhat deceitful to call this a Beach Boys Track. There's not much ensemble playing happening. But I posted this track for two (yes two) reasons. The first, of course, is to get the obligatory Bad Dylan Cover out of the way here on Sunday Under Covers. But its the second reason that warms my hearthole. On july 11th i will get to be with my whole little family for the first time in a few years. I will hold my grandson, Jonah, for the first time. Actually, my Son & his GF & Jonah will be here on the 8th. My daughter will be comin up from Raleigh with her BF (A fan of the hated & dreaded Miami Dolphins...but he's a great guy & perfect for my Patriot loving daughter.) & on July 11th we're gonna have a cookout/barnfire/guitar strummin/bad song singalong/rockin good time. Its gonna start mid afternoon with a PG rated cookout with all the kids & Elderly relatives & progress through the evening & early morning into a wild & crazy night! Friends & invited guests (call 4 directions if you're close enough, ((Inrumford?)) will be showing up, musical instruments (accoustic only) (maybe an attenuated electric bass). See...to me (us) "communal music" is the absolute best there is. Off the cuff renditions of songs from every source, known & unknown, shared & enjoyed just for the hell of it. & we have some very talented people here, i've seen & heard some of the most incredible music in such settings. But its the feeling...the warm full hearted feeling of being with my family, my good friends & even perfect strangers...sharing something like music, camaraderie(?), & just a........words fail.
So yeah...I'm pretty stoked for this

There are some very enjoyable performances on the fake "Party" album by the Beach Boys - this is not one of them.

Party on! Sounds like a wonderful time. I hope some New England area Moggers can make it. Take lots of pictures of your guitar pull/song session for us music folks- and have a tape deck rolling so you can post one of your creations :)
