A WOOF IN CROONER'S CLOTHING

Posted over 4 years ago
Anyone familiar with John Cale's _ouevre_ will be surprised by this track. I like John Cale, his music is usually dark and dense, with subject matter to match. Lou Reed has had his moments, but my favorite **Velvet Underground** alum is definitely J. C.His +Paris 1999+ (live) is a must have in any collection of Dark rock n roll.So I was surprised when I heard him doin' this, he sounds like an old school crooner, with a lot of Sinatra, some Bobby Darin, even echoes of Der Bingle.Jools Holland was a founding member and driving force behind **Squeeze**, and has since then carved himself quite a niche as a pop music explorer.I bought this cd some time ago because it contained the last recording George Harrison _completed_ before his death.
