WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

HOLIDAYS OR NOT, ITS STILL SUNDAY, SO....

Sounding more like a 'vocal guide' than a cover, George's demo of Ringo's "It Don't Come Easy" raises some questions. Not the least of which would be; Why did Ringo need a vocal guide for a song he wrote?

  5. dermahrk says Not that dumb. I don't think he ever liked American football. Having said that, I enjoyed this Beatles rarity, having never heard it. You should put it on the next mix CD you send to me. You know, so there's something good on there.

  6. deadmandeadman says Anatomicaly speaking, I'm not sure where my 'quick' is, But Mark you just cut to it. I'd be hurt if I wasn't enjoyin' the dismanteling of the Dolphins which is currently underway.

  7. Bartleby says George has left us too soon - With a guide like this one, you might feel intimidated to even to do your own version.

  8. asrati says Perverse as it may be to say so, I've always regarded this song as the finest post-Beatle, former-Beatle single. And I thought George made the most of his chance to step out of Lennon's and McCartney's shadow, delivering some of the best post-Beatle, former-Beatle singles, too, such as "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)", "Waiting On You All" and "What Is Life?". The lead guitar line here sounds just like the finished cut's. So you think George did this vocal guide after the guitar part was laid down but before the song had been built up?

  9. dermahrk says Actually, the Quick was a group - the first group of Danny Wilde, who went on to Great Buildings (with Phil Solem), then several solo albums, finally reaching some success in a duo with Phil called the Rembrandts. You may've heard of them. They are fantastic, IMHO. And we both know that your mix CDs are actually quite good these days. This, of course, is 100% due to my stellar musical influence on you.
