I love reading stuff like "this":http://mog.com/brendanhalpin/blog_post/127600#comments It reassures me that the wheel's still spinnin' 'round and around.I'll bet the first time some cave-kids figured out some new cool polyrhythms there was an elder bitchin' about the 'crazy music the kids listen to'

    brendanhalpin says Yeah, it's a very weird phenomenon, for sure, and one I hoped I'd be immune to. But, as you say, the wheel continues to spin. "When I was a boy, we had Schooly D! Now _that_ was rap! Not this crunk garbage!"

    scotfree says immutable time deadmandeadman's randomly provoked thought #1 There is a short passage where an animal howls in the distance at the beginning of Bowie's Diamond Dogs. From my teenage room in the basement, it always sounded just like my Mother yelling for me from upstairs. I must have turned that thing down 30 or 40 times before it sunk in.
