I posted about Arms before, So its gotta be time for a follow up. Arms is a solo project of Todd Golstein of Harlem Shakes. He makes music out of retexturized rock formulas. Minimalist without "artyfact", defiantly lo-fi, witty & knowing subversions of standard rock cliches. Arena rock power chords slash & burn & disappear while a ukelele (for instance) floats a gentle melody over sudden reefs of drums. Kids Aflame, the first full-length release from Arms, has an almost ramshackle charm. Call it gritty pop music for the new millenium.
