SUNDAY RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER....LUKA BLOOM

Its not easy watching someone fade away....caught in a destructive spiral....we can only stay out of reach...lest we get sucked in. This song was very popular at the time someone dear to me was drowning, slowly, in morose tears of self-pity, self-loathing. No one could reach her....everyone quit trying, lest they get dragged down.
Its not easy watching someone fade away.....

There are still songs I can't listen to because they're too freighted with memories of people who were determined to erase themselves. The honest attempt to save them is always necessary. but the hard part is not blaming yourself when (as is almost inevitably the case) the Hollywood ending doesn't materialize.
My most vivid memory of Luka Bloom is his attempting to open a Pogues concert in NYC in the late 80s. Everyone was already pissed - the poor guy didn't stand a chance. Now that I think of it, that's the last time I was drunk enough to puke....
".........Now that I think of it, that's the last time I was drunk enough to puke...."
.........Geeze, Huh? Thanks for that, Bill. LOL
Hey, it happens....
yup. But folks generally commemorate it. lol
D'OH! That was supposed to read.....but folks generally don't commemorate it.
My life is an open book, whether anyone wants to hear it or not....
An almanac, Right?
Or a psychiatric case study....
