is he allowed to do that? No doubt he got Michael Jackson's permission
One would assume so.
why? why? why do people think that just because they can act, that they're awesome singers as well? I don't understand? And why don't their loved ones STOP them??!!
my suggestion to Bill is ... instead of singing for the Salvation Army, just donate BIG BUCKS! :)
You think the actual Salvation Army Band got revenue from this? I doubt it.
But I don't find it too embarassing for some reason. He's not trying for art - just kind of yelling the lyrics. I guess I have a soft spot for Coz - just hope it isn't my brain.
Hmmmmmmmm.
MAN... I was hoping for the rest of the song to finish it out!
Michael Jackson had no say in this. He was a boy when this was recorded - young enough to catch the eye of the older Jacko. As for the track, when I heard it, I choked on my Jello pudding pop.
"I choked on my Jello pudding pop."
Good to see you're stayin' on your health food diet while you recuperate. How's that going?
"Jello pudding pop" = Cosby-as-commercial-spokesman reference.
It's still a long road to recovery, but I'm not straying from the path!
I knew that, for crying out loud....do you imagine me uncultured? LOL.
Slow n easy Mike, don't rush it.
Heard this when I was a kid a few times. I can hear the crackle of vinyl on this. I have to side with Dermahrk a bit. I liked it in my youth and the Wattts 103rd Street Rhythm Band made it a fun album that gave it a different feel from his previous musical album. I confess growing up on Bill Cosby albums and there were tons of them. Musical artists, let alone comedians today, can't release the output that Warner Brothers was cranking out for the Cos.
:=)
When Cos made "Hooray for the Salvation Army Band" album in the late 60s It was all in fun!!Being backed up by the "Watts 103rd St, Rythm Band "made the album "credible" even though Cos couldn't carry a tune if it had a HANDLE on it. "Reach out )I'll be There) Four Tops hit, and "I'm a Roadrunner", Jr. Walker and the AllStars hit, stand out. In the documentary "Standing in the Shadows of Motown", a tribute to Motown's house band, "The Funk Brothers" someone remarked "with the Funk Brothers playing. Bozo the clown coul have a hit record singing." To some degree that is true. Smokey wrote and performed "Whos Loving You", but young Miko Jackson and his brothers made it MICHAEL's song.
Hey! I think you're right, Thanks
