....I've been having computer problems of late....I think they're gone (for now, says inrumford)....but something is different in my music icons. So I'm posting one of my favorite songs by The Band. This song is a true masterwork, as an ensemble performance & lyrically. Perhaps more so lyrically. Robbie Robertson's economic but richly evocotive little bridges....."Scarecrow in a yellow moon, pretty soon the carnival at the edge of town...King Harvest has surely come." ...evoke wide open spaces...long maybe boring nights.....a smaller America...a much larger world.
And Richard Manuel's vocal on the Verses is stunning. A jittery on edge vocal, nervous, near panic.....everyman tryin' to hold on to his land, his life.
So, lets' see if this works....if it does I'm not sure that's a good thing.....it may mean I'm losing my marbles.

Hey MOG! How many friggin' times would you have me take your survey?
Scotty here Captain, full speed ahead all engines working!
excellent.
what web browser are you using?
Firefox?
Hmm - I used to use Firefox but I now use Flock. The reason I ask is your comment about the MOG survey - I've heard from a few moggers about this popup, but I have never seen it. I have my browser set to block popups and I guess it is doing an effective job. Check out Flock - it's a freebee and is cross platform. I have it on my peecee and all my macs and it seems to be pretty stable, plus, I like the user interface.
....uh, yeah.
Or try Google Chrome- it's the fastest browser I've found. Just let it install plugins when needed and it will be your best friend. Great test song.
Each time you do a post about this recording, you find new interesting things to say about it, as if it's a bottomless well of musical beauty. Why not?
MOG has never asked for my opinions. Wonder why?
I think they already know what you think.
This is probably the Band's single greatest song. If this had been the only thing they ever recorded, they would still be immortals.
Test successful!
I have "block popups" on, too, but I read somewhere that if you click "never" when it asks you to take the survey it will not appear again.
so did you get the old 'puter fixed or get a new one? Macs are virus-free. i'm just sayin'. ;D
i finally did take that survey, too, so the "block popups" toolbar thing would go away. the question is... can they send me an iPod to Cambodia...?
hey dude i liked you picture it looks like old lithograph prints the grateful dead artist mouse uses, that is all.
