Oh Lady Hit The Road

Posted 10 months ago

By their fourth album King Crimson was running out of steam. The elaborate compositions were becoming more stripped down even as they further pushed various envelopes. Robert Fripp's fascination with what "else" a guitar could sound like was already well on it's way to becoming obsessive as he constantly sought new ways to record what he heard in his head. This is not a very good cd as more than half of it sounds blander than muzak. But A Sailor's Tale is interesting and the lecherous "Ladies Of The Road" is a delight.

  1. redmiller1 says Quite a curious composition this. Very trippy. Hints of John Lennon and Tom Waits meet the unmistakable Frippertronics. Thanks DMDM. (BTW - love the old pat patriot logo.)

  2. deadmandeadman says Why thank you Redmiller1. Yeah, I suffered through many a losing decade as a Pat's fan, so I'm gonna milk this era for all it's worth, you know? Tom Brady is unbeleivably cool under pressure and as focused as a laser beam. un-be-f*&king-leivable.
