*+Army of Anyone+* is:*Richard Patrick*(lead singer - formely of Filter, NIN)*Dean DeLeo*(lead guitar - formerly of Stone Temple Pilots)*Robert DeLeo* (bass and backing vocals - formerly of Stone Temple Pilots)*Ray Luzier* (drummer extraordinaire - played with MANY greats)I can not say enough about how GREAT the AOA concert is and SO worth going to!!! PEOPLE: ONLY $20 bucks for these tickets!!! You can't see and have access to such rock of this quality for this price!!!*GO SEE EM!!!**+Amazing. Simply amazing.+*I turn 44 this week, but right now I feel like a teenager talkin' about his favorite new band. I'm not sure, but I think my nipples might be hard with excitement. ;o}*First let me start off with a resounding apology to Robert DeLeo for me having the 'stones' the give him Rabbit Ears in the group photo with the band from the Houston show (see prior post).*+OK, so, obviously, I did manage to get into the Meet & Greet in Austin, which made me feel great, cause for another moment in time, I was one of the band; *recognized*, acknowledged, and even joked around with by the band members.+ That sure does beat the boring programmers life in the natural gas industry... (so if i wanna be a rockstar as part of my midlife crisis, what do rockstars have for midlife crises?)*Anyways, Richard Patrick said, "Hey, you were at our Houston show!* What's your name?" So, I told him, "Dead Mike", to which he replied, *"I read your review!!"*Suddenly, I experienced overwhelming joy and shock and awe and a tinge of anxiety with glee that rock stars of this stature are so in touch with the fans (and of course, that he knew who Dead Mike was - sweet!).To show how friggin down-to-earth these guys are, they joined in on the fun for the Austin group photo!!+*Rabbit Ears for Everyone!!*+
*Clearly some people were having more fun than others.*
+*Secondly*+, let me apologize to Richard Patrick for loving his voice all these years, but never getting into any of his former bands... I love the Filter songs played by AOA, I just never knew (before now) that it was Filter! And none of my friends did Filter... So, I dunno, I feel kinda ripped off all these years not getting into Filter. (i'm gonna have a talk with my so called 'friends')Clearly he is still getting better and is great with AOA. AOA's *Leave It* live is awesome (as was EVERY single song played). In any case, Army of Anyone has such a great mesh of talent and personalities! I hope they continue to hammer out even bigger and better songs. They are rock solid musical geniuses that obviously love what they do, and we love them for that!!+*And speaking of Genius*+, they say that *Genius Borders On Insanity*, and I've gazed into the eyes of Dean DeLeo. I recognize that the man is an eccentric genius cause I'm a bit eccentric myself (I have no musical talent, but I rock as a progrmmer :o)+*Dean DeLeo - Regular Guy and Rockstar*+*+The concert in Austin+* was *even better* than the Houston show! Can you believe it?! And only the second show of the tour!! They brought out musical guests to play during the set! The Meat Puppets, who played a song with Dean. "It's been 11 years since we played together" and they also played a song on stage without any AOA members. A concert within a concert. Obviously, the good vibes are shared by everyone. ( I don't know the Meat Puppets, I felt like the only one there that didn't... )*Set list*
Ironically, kinda, *+the night started off+* when I arrived in Austin, parked behind the venue (La Zona Rosa), walked my dog and then headed to 'will call' to get my ticket (and ask where the meet & greet was at ;o). As I was walking up front, I saw Robert DeLeo trying to pack a bag into the luggage compartment of the tour bus.*I joked with him, "Don't you have people to do that for you?"*He admitted that he had to do things himself, sometimes... Ray Luzier was there too, also taking care of some ladies, or something... In any case, I got some photos "That look like us", per Robert DeLeo. :) (cool enough, they took the time to each snap a picture on my camera with them out back - what lucky timing!)I also swooned over them, like a little schoolgirl... Man, I DO NOT know how to act my age...
+*OK, I also was SO lucky to score an AOA drumstick too!!!*+ What luck! I was hanging out after the show trying to score a set list and was talking with a security guard (who loved his job so much!). So they were pushing the barrier back and as they pushed it he said to me *"Hey, score that drumstick on the ground behind me."*I DID!! I didn't even see it, or know it had fallen down there!! I felt even luckier, cause two nights before, in Houston, an audience member asked a security guard for a stick that landed on-stage and the security guard waved off the fan and then snagged it for himself!!!So much, to say about the band. They oughta do a cruise like Sammy Hagar!!!*+ONCE AGAIN! Thank you: Robert, Dean, Richard and Ray!! Anytime y'all are in Houston, you gotta place to stay. :o}+*Anyways, lemme let the pix and videos do the rest of the talking.(btw - I got a better camera)

+*Video is not great, turn down the volume for best enjoyment+*+*AOA - Father Figure Clip*++Before security hassled me++Security made me stop recording+*+STP - Vasoline+**+AOA - Non Stop+**+Filter - Take a Picture part 1+**+Filter - Take a Picture part 2+**+STP - Big Bang Baby+**I was directly in front of security, so i could only point the camera in the direction without looking, sorry for the poor quality.**+Filter - Welcome to the Fold+*+My batteries died - and apparently the camera was zoomed in++*Thanx AOA! I guess you're never too old to be a devoted fan...*+Click here for all concert hi-res pix*And now a shameless plug for myself.Watch me on A&E TV ("Death Cheaters"):*Low bandwidth: http://www.deadmike.com/Videos/aande.htmlHi bandwidth: http://www.deadmike.com/Videos/aandeT1.html
