Rediscovering my Jazz Collection

Posted about 5 years ago
Wow, it's been a while since I've posted anything so here's a good start. For the past year or so I've been getting heavily into non-jazz artists, mostly hip-hop but also some indie stuff. Lately however, I've been getting bored with all of my music and have been buying a ton of new stuff on iTunes; None of which has sated my desire for good music. So this morning I decided to plug my external drive in and dig through my entire music collection that I haven't seen in a while and man. I found what I've been missing. I'm going to be posting some of the albums that I'm rediscovering as I uncover them, but really want to start with this one: McCoy Tyner Live At Newport. ( iTunes Link: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=55756&s=143441 )Damn this is an amazing album. I've always loved McCoy Tyner's style, and Bob Cranshaw on bass is just downright bad-ass. This is a must-listen album....More to come-dde

  1. Nehemiah9 says That's cool. Can you email me a few gigs of Jazz then? I have almost no Jazz on my computer. I'm looking forward to my vinyl run this summer though. My mission: (which I chose to accept) Step 1: Travel to Buffalo, NY with two nearly-empty suitcases. Step 2: Return to Beijing with two very-not-empty suitcases. Step 3: Repeat 40 times...
