WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

iPod Shuffle's were not designed for toddlers

Posted over 3 years ago
So we gave our 2 year old an iPod Shuffle last night. It was really funny. She was playing her "Backyardigans" album (which she absolutely loves) and quickly figured out how to rewind her favorite song "Yeti Stomp!" and would dance around in a circle shouting "stomp stomp stomp!" while of course stomping her feet on the ground as hard as she could. Does that make us bad parents? Maybe. My thinking is this though... 1. She LOVES music and loves to dance and 2. It's better than letting her watch endless TV. Right?Well on another note, I love MOG and need to figure out how to get more time to devote to exploring it :)-dde

  1. Kate says The only downside to having your 2 year old have a shuffle is the possibility of wrecking her hearing. So maybe big old headphones would be better than the earbuds the shuffle comes with. Other than that, rock on kid!

  2. dde says oh for sure! I didn't give her the iPod ear buds, I gave her some cheap old headphones that don't get very loud at all. Because of course, before she found rewind and fast forward, she discovered the way to turn the volume up :)

  4. ladyfizzgig says More proof that my parents did not love me as a child, thanks for rubbing it in. And the best way to dedicate more time to MOG is to clear your schedules of the nonessentials, such as eating, drinking, sleeping, or socializing with anyone outside of MOG (children, friends and spouses included.)

  5. champy says Yes, it does seem to be true that your child loves music! Either she will be a drummer in a band, or one of the leads in Stomp!
